THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LEAF

My photographic practice moves away from narrative expectations to focus on a simple ontological reality: the underside of the leaf.

I cultivate a state of receptivity, allowing images to emerge and inviting the viewer to discern, beyond the surface of things, that moment when perception and the living briefly coincide.

A witness to this encounter, grounded in index, I retain that which persists. Through subtraction, evidence remains. Simple forms appear, offering a way to engage with the visible without imposing meaning.

I do not show only what is seen, but the state of clarity produced by the act of seeing — a consciousness of presence.

In a world brutally traversed by statistical images, maintaining this embodied attention becomes both fragile and vital. Sharing this threshold opens a fertile space of resonance where the gaze can remain both singular and collective.

Témoin de cette rencontre, ancré dans l’indice, je retiens ce qui persiste. Par la soustraction, l’évidence demeure. Des formes simples apparaissent, offrant une manière de s’engager avec le visible sans imposer de sens.

Je ne montre pas seulement ce qui est vu, mais l’état de clarté produit par l’acte de voir — une conscience de la présence.

Dans un monde brutalement traversé par des images statistiques, maintenir cette attention incarnée devient à la fois fragile et vital. Le partage de ce seuil ouvre un espace fertile de résonance où le regard peut demeurer à la fois singulier et collectif.
