THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LEAF
My photographic practice stands in opposition to narrative. It proceeds from an ontological inquiry questioning a reality: the underside of the leaf. I do not seek to invent images, but to cultivate a state of receptivity that allows them to emerge.
Rooted in presence and inscribed in 'what is,' these images bear witness to an act of recognition in the Platonic sense: a moment where inner vision and external reality briefly coincide. This encounter, founded on index and trace, creates the conditions for archetypal figures to surface, guiding our reading of the visible world. Through subtraction, I retain only that which persists.
My images do not show what is seen, but the state of clarity produced by the act of seeing. They invite the beholder to perceive, beyond the surface of things, the coherence that structures the living.
Ma pratique photographique se situe à l’opposé du récit. Elle procède d’une enquête ontologique questionnant une réalité : le dessous de la feuille. Je ne cherche pas à inventer des images, mais à me placer dans un état de réceptivité qui leur permet d’advenir.
Ancrées dans la présence et inscrites dans "ce qui est", mes images témoignent d’un acte de reconnaissance au sens platonicien : cet instant où vision intérieure et réalité extérieure coïncident. Cette rencontre, fondée sur l'indice et la trace, permet l'émergence de figures archétypales qui guident notre lecture du monde visible. Par la soustraction, je ne retiens que ce qui persiste.
Mes images ne montrent pas ce qui est vu, mais l’état de clarté produit par l’acte de voir. Elles invitent le regardeur à percevoir, au-delà de la surface des choses, la cohérence qui structure le vivant.
