THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LEAF
My photographic practice moves away from narrative expectations to focus on a simple ontological reality: the underside of the leaf.
I cultivate a state of receptivity, allowing images to emerge and inviting the viewer to discern, beyond the surface of things, that moment when perception and the living briefly coincide.
A witness to this encounter, grounded in index, I retain that which persists. Through subtraction, evidence remains. Simple forms appear, offering a way to engage with the visible without imposing meaning.
I do not show only what is seen, but the state of clarity produced by the act of seeing — a consciousness of presence.
In a world brutally traversed by statistical images, maintaining this embodied attention becomes both fragile and vital. Sharing this threshold opens a fertile space of resonance where the gaze can remain both singular and collective.
